Privacy, Subscription, Terms, and Refund Policy

Overview

These policies explain how the Video Download Utility Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information, free usage, subscriptions, support, and refunds. The Extension downloads a direct video file only after the user chooses a visible download action.

The Extension does not collect passwords, private messages, cookies, or unrelated browsing history. It does not sell personal information or use information for advertising.

Privacy

• Video data. Video identifiers, titles, temporary media URLs, and metadata needed for a requested download are processed locally by the Extension and Chrome. They are not sent to our membership service and are not stored by us. Chrome sends the selected file request to the source media host.
• Free usage. Chrome sync storage keeps the number of successful free downloads and temporary reservations for downloads in progress. The successful count is capped at five. A canceled, interrupted, or failed download is not counted. Depending on the user’s Chrome settings, Google may sync this value between signed-in Chrome browsers.
• Membership. The Extension creates a random identifier beginning with okvd_. Chrome local storage keeps that identifier and the latest membership response. The identifier is sent to the membership service for checkout and entitlement checks.
• Restore Purchase. If the user chooses Restore Purchase, the entered checkout email is sent over HTTPS to the membership service and Paddle to find a matching purchase for this Extension. The Extension does not save the email locally.
• Network and security. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and normal request metadata to deliver and secure the membership service. Restore Purchase uses the IP address for short-term abuse prevention.

Subscriptions and Payments

The Extension includes five successful free downloads. Additional downloads require Member Pro. Monthly Member Pro costs US$4.99 per month and Yearly Member Pro costs US$14.99 per year. There is no free trial. Both plans renew automatically until canceled.

Prices exclude tax. The buyer is responsible for any sales tax, VAT, GST, or similar tax calculated at checkout. Canceling stops future renewals; access normally continues through the already-paid billing period.

Paddle provides checkout and may process contact, billing, payment, tax, and transaction information under Paddle’s privacy policy. The Extension and our membership service do not receive or store complete card details.

Refund Policy

To request a refund, email adam@heyis.me from the address used at Paddle Checkout. Include the purchase email and a brief description of the issue so the transaction can be located.

Refund requests are reviewed in good faith and in accordance with applicable law and Paddle’s buyer terms. When Paddle approves a full refund covering the complete transaction, Member Pro access for that transaction is revoked. Pending, rejected, credit-only, or below-total adjustments do not revoke access. Previously used free downloads are not reset after a refund.

Terms of Use

• Use the Extension only for videos you own or are authorized to download, and comply with applicable law and website terms.
• The Extension does not bypass private content, DRM, access controls, or platform restrictions.
• Video availability and downloadable quality depend on the source website and may change without notice.
• Member Pro applies only to this Extension and the purchase associated with the verified product membership.
• The service is provided as available. We may update the Extension to maintain compatibility, security, or policy compliance.
