Privacy Policy

Overview

This policy explains how the threads downloader - photo & video Chrome extension (“the Extension”) handles information. The Extension downloads a Threads photo, video, or group of post media that you choose.

The Extension does not collect Threads passwords, cookies, private messages, unrelated browsing history, or a list of downloaded posts. It does not sell personal information or use information for advertising.

Information handled by the Extension

• Threads website content. The Extension reads the current Threads page to identify user-selected photos, videos, post identifiers, and account names. This content is processed in the browser only to create the requested file names and downloads. It is not sent to our payment or membership service.
• Selected media. Individual media is downloaded from the media URL already provided to the current Threads page. For a batch download, the Extension fetches the selected media in an offscreen Chrome document and creates one ZIP locally. Media files are not uploaded to us.
• Local usage data. Chrome local storage keeps the current local date and number of successful free downloads for that day. This provides the five-download daily allowance and is not sent to us.
• Membership data. The Extension creates a random identifier beginning with tmd_. It stores that identifier locally with a short-lived membership status, billing-period end date, and related transaction identifier. The random identifier is sent to the membership service when checking Pro status or opening checkout.
• Restore Purchase email. If you choose Restore Purchase, the purchase email you enter is sent over HTTPS to the membership service and Paddle to find a matching active subscription. The Extension does not store that email locally.
• Network and security data. Cloudflare processes IP addresses and ordinary request metadata required to deliver and secure the membership service. Restore Purchase uses short-term IP-based rate limiting to reduce abuse.

Payments

Paid subscriptions are processed by Paddle. Paddle may collect contact, billing, payment, tax, and transaction information under its own privacy policy. The Extension does not receive or store complete card details.

Service providers and sharing

Information is shared only when needed to provide the Extension:

• Cloudflare hosts the membership service, provides network security, and applies Restore Purchase rate limits.
• Paddle provides checkout, subscriptions, transaction records, refunds, and purchase matching.
• Our email service provider delivers operational payment, restore, refund, and support messages.

We do not sell user data, share it with data brokers, or transfer it for personalized advertising, credit scoring, or lending.

Storage and retention

Local usage and membership data remain in Chrome until you clear the Extension’s data or uninstall it. Operational support records are kept only as reasonably needed for customer support, fraud prevention, payment reconciliation, and legal obligations. Paddle and Cloudflare retain information according to their policies and applicable law.

Your choices

• You can use the free allowance without providing an email address.
• You can avoid transmitting an email by not using Restore Purchase.
• You can clear local data through Chrome or uninstall the Extension.
• You can contact us about information associated with a purchase or restore request.

Refunds and subscription support

To request help or a refund, email adam@heyis.me using the purchase email so we can locate the subscription. Refunds are reviewed manually. An approved full refund—or cumulative partial refunds that reach the full transaction amount—removes Pro access after Paddle sends the signed refund notification. A partial refund below the full amount does not immediately remove Pro access.

A refunded customer may purchase again later and receive Pro access through the new transaction.

Security and limited use

Data sent to the membership service is transmitted over HTTPS. Access is limited to downloads, membership checks, checkout, purchase restoration, customer support, security, and legal compliance.

The use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

Children

The Extension is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when the Extension or its data practices change. The revised policy will be posted at this address with an updated date.
